Fiat 500 bezitters vieren 55 jarig jubileum op grootse wijze
De legendarische Fiat 500 uit 1957 bestaat 55 jaar en dus organiseert de 500 Club Italia dit jaar een extra groot evenement dat zelfs op televisie te volgen zal zijn. Van vrijdag 6 tot zondag 8 juli is er een vol programma met onder andere een inmiddels traditionele luchtfoto van minstens 150 auto’s. Dit jaar zal men hierbij de vorm van Dante Giacosa’s bekende ontwerp proberen aan te nemen, wat een kunstwerk moet opleveren van 80 meter lengte en 25 meter in de hoogte/breedte. De opstelling zal wederom in het hippodroom van Villanova d’Albenga plaatsvinden. Het vormt de 29ste meeting alweer, georganiseerd door de in 1984 opgerichte Italiaanse 500 Club uit Garlenda in de provincie Savona. De Bloemenriviera is ook nu weer het startpunt van deze organisatie, dat tevens geld inzamelt voor UNICEF. Dit jaar zijn ‘Cinquecentisti’ uit Groot Brittannië, Australië en de Britse Commonwealth eregast op deze altijd groots georganiseerde meeting.
